Spring 2021 Virtual Club Descriptions
Art’s Cool - Watercolor Painting - VIRTUAL
**Take-home watercolor painting supply packs will be provided to each student**
Mondays: 3:45 - 4:45 PM
You don’t have to be an expert to create something beautiful! Art’s Cool Watercolor Painting class is an introduction to watercolor painting for 3rd-6th grade students. Students will learn the proper techniques for mixing paint, handling a brush, basic color theory, and using watercolors to mix and layer.
Art’s Cool - Oil Pastel - VIRTUAL
**Take-home oil pastel supply packs will be provided to each student**

Enjoy the fun of creating art with the perfect tool for blending, layering and mixing colors! Built like a crayon but spreads like paint; oil pastels are soft, creamy and easy to use. Join Art's cool every Thursday at 3:45 for a fun lesson in design and composition, explored through a paint-like style with a dramatic effect. Oil Pastel!
Coding with Kids - Little Coders - VIRTUAL
Thursdays: 3:45 - 4:45
Coding with Kids Little Coders camp is an opportunity for young children to develop their computational thinking skills, build their first programs, and have fun with new friends! The curriculum is designed specifically for early readers and takes into account cognitive abilities as well as the attention span typical for ages 5-7. We use age-appropriate online tools, including Lightbot, Kodable, and Scratch to introduce basic coding skills. After the camp, students will be able to share their projects with family and friends and continue programming at home with their Coding with Kids Scratch account.
Colorado Ballet - Everybody Dance! - VIRTUAL

Let's get moving! All students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade are invited to participate in Colorado Ballet's after school dance program - Every Body Dance! Come dance in fun and creative ways while also learning basic ballet skills. This class is designed for students to study a variety of dance concepts while also improving important life skills such as problem solving, social and emotional learning, and strengthening the body and brain all through the art of dance. These classes will take place virtually over Zoom and will offer opportunities for students to not only move, dance and have fun, but also the opportunity to connect with their peers and create new friendships. The program closes with an informal performance for families and friends - a big Zoom celebration and spotlight opportunity for our dancers! All abilities, skill levels, and dance backgrounds welcome. Let’s DANCE!
CSU 4H- Home STEM Program - VIRTUAL
**Take-home STEM kits will be provided to students**
Wednesdays: 3:45 - 4:45
Each week students in CSU Arapahoe branch’s 4H program will meet virtually via Zoom to work through a STEM kit activity. Kits include all needed materials, with the exception of a few common household items such as scissors, water, cups. Activities will include engineering challenges, kitchen STEM chemistry, energy and motion activities, and plant science. *New* experiments this session will include: Bristle Bots, Lava Lamps, Roller Coaster Challenge, Invisible Ink, and Straw Bridge Challenge.
Lighthouse Writers Workshop - Write Your Own Book - Creative Writing Workshop - VIRTUAL
**Students will be provided with notebooks and colorful pen sets**
Wednesdays: 3:45 - 4:45
In this studio-based creative writing class, we'll explore many different types of writing--poetry, fiction, nonfiction, songwriting, and screenplay--and you'll get a chance to write a short book of your own writing with whatever types of writing you want. As the weeks continue, we'll handmake and illustrate our books, and have time to share them with an invited audience to our Zoom meeting on the last day of the workshop.
Slow Food Denver - Cooking Club - VIRTUAL
*Kids knife sets and cut resistant gloves will be provided. Weekly ingredients will also be provided and will be passed out at school on Thursdays.

This Spring, Slow Food Denver is continuing to provide critical youth education programs virtually to students across the Front Range (and beyond)! Lil Sprouts Online Cooking Classes are designed to teach kids how to safely and confidently move around their kitchens - encouraging creativity in ingredients and kitchen choices. Each week we will dive into a different cultural cuisine and children will develop new kitchen skills. Throughout this program students will cultivate an ease navigating through their own kitchen, broaden their taste preferences, and gain confidence in cooking and preparing meals not only for themselves but for the entire family.

Spartan Edge - IN PERSON

Spartan Edge is a physical fitness club that aims to build perseverance, grit, resilience, and character through high intensity workouts, challenging exercise, and character-building lessons. Extreme dedication and commitment to the program and school work is required. Positive behavior in school, attendance, participation in workouts, and work completion is expected. This program will fill up quickly!
The 21st Century Learning Center at Clayton is a federal grant-funded program that provides academic and enrichment opportunities to students during non-school hours. The programs we provide help students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math. It also offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that complement their regular academic programs and bring additional focus to physical and social-emotional wellbeing.
